WELCOME

  • HullabaLOU is a first-of-its-kind summer music event offering fans the chance to connect and reconnect with their favorite artists on July 23 – 25, 2010 at Churchill Downs, home of the world-famous Kentucky Derby.
  • The event will showcase more than 65 bands on five stages playing a wide array of music including classic rock, country, adult contemporary and Kentucky’s own bluegrass. HullabaLOU provides a casual, outdoor lawn experience combined with reserved seating, fresh, regional cuisine and Kentucky handmade merchandise.
  • The event is expected to have an estimated economic impact of $38 million to the Greater Louisville, KY area and is positioned between the CMA Festival and Lollapalooza amidst the schedule of prominent national music festivals across America.

MEDIA

Media is defined as those who are full-time paid employees or representatives of professionally recognized media organizations, including newspapers, magazines, wire services, television stations, radio stations, Web sites and other online mediums.

Freelance journalists, photojournalists and videographers may only receive an event media credential if on a specific assignment from a professionally recognized media organization. A freelancer cannot request accreditation on behalf of the organization that he or she is representing; the request shall come from an Assigning Editor or General Manager.

CREDENTIALS

We ask for your cooperation in registering your staff to help us identify legitimate media from, well, those that aren’t!

The HullabaLOU Music Festival issues media credentials, parking passes and/or shuttle service to each major media outlet.  Media credentials shall only be issued to members of the working media whose primary purpose is gathering news and disseminating it and for which other commercial activities are ancillary.

Before media credentials are issued, the individual and/or outlet must sign a Release and Indemnification Agreement for coverage of any event on track property and provide proof of commercial general liability insurance of $1 million and workers’ compensation if equipment is brought onto track property (Note: If freelance journalists are either self-employed or operating under an independent contractor arrangement with a media organization or other entity, no workers’ compensation policy is required).  Credentials will not be released to media outlets or individuals until the proper Release and Indemnification Agreement and proof of insurance document are on file.

Applying in no way guarantees a media outlet will receive media credentials; access is a privilege, not a right. Media credentials are awarded by HullabaLOU in the exercise of its sole and absolute discretion. In exchange for access to the HullabaLOU Music Festival in ways not available to the general public, members of the media shall agree to certain terms and conditions governing the access.

PRINT PHOTOGRAPHY

HullabaLOU’s still photography policy is that pictures can be taken from the photo pit during the first three songs pending artist approval. No flash photography is permitted.  Band policy is subject to change on site and some artists may have you sign their personal photo release forms or may even prohibit photos entirely. We appreciate your cooperation with this.

VIDEOGRAPHY

HullabaLOU’s approved video access is intended for news organizations only and will be limited to 60 seconds of footage from the first two songs pending artist approval in the photo pit.

Designated media will also have the option to photograph from Millionaires Row – Level 4. This is a favorite Churchill Downs spot that caters to a visual and entertaining background with the historic twin spires nearby. It’s a perfect location for a live shot.

Please note news crews covering the “overall festival” will be allowed (if requested in advance) in the infield but must be escorted by a member of the HullabaLOU Media Relations department.
